Israel denies reports that fleeing Hizballah official arrived with $5m Iranian funds
Israeli sources denied Saturday night the Lebanese media reports citing Hizballah officials as saying that Hussein Fahs, a 29-year old telecommunications engineer from south Lebanon, had crossed into Israel carrying $5 million in embezzled Iranian aid funds well as classified documents and maps.
In reply to questions, Israeli sources said they had heard the Hizballah CFO was missing and were aware of an intensive hunt for him, but stated he had not arrived in Israel.
DEBKAfile: If he were to cross into Israel, Fahs as Hizballah’s telecommunications expert would have in his possession documents laying bare the group’s top-secret military structure, including the locations of its rocket units and of the deployment of Iranian forces recently flown into Lebanon.
