Israel raises conscripts’ salary by 50 percent
IDF soldiers will have their monthly salaries raised by 50 percent, starting next month. The increase comes under an agreement by the Defense Ministry and the Finance Ministry that was approved by the Cabinet on Sunday. The raise applies to soldiers carrying out their mandatory military service.
Combat soldiers will now receive 1,620 shekels, rather than 1,080; combat support soldiers are to be paid 1,170 shekels, up from 780; while those serving on the home front will receive 810 shekels rather than 540.
