Jerusalem: European pressure will not force Israel to backtrack
The Prime Minister’s Office in Jerusalem released a statement Monday rejecting demands from certain European governments to reconsider the plans to build 3,000 housing units in Jerusalem and the West Bank and develop the E-1 corridor. The Israeli official said that, regardless of international pressure, Israel will continue to stand by its vital interests and not backtrack on decisions taken in the face of unilateral Palestinian steps at the UN. “If the Palestinians take more such steps, Israel will react accordingly,” he said.
