Joint Russian-US air drill to avoid “midair proximity” over Syria

Russian and US air forces conducted a joint exercise Tuesday morning to drill skills of interaction between crews and ground forces in case of midair proximity, Gen. Andrew Kartapolov, head of the Russian Armed forces General Staff Department of Operations disclosed in Moscow. He recalled that the Russian and US defense departments last week signed a memorandum of understanding to prevent air accidents in Syria.
