Last hurdle for Lapid-Bennet government deal

Hours before Yair Lapid’s mandate for prime minister runs out, Yamina’s Ayelet Shaked Wednesday morning stood by her ultimatum for the place on the Committee for the Appointment of Judges that was awarded Labor leader Merav Michaeli. At stake is the coalition deal for her party leader Naftali Bennett to take the lead as first prime minister of the new coalition government. This is the last obstacle before Lapid presents his lineup of eight parties to the president before midnight.
