Netanyahu blasts EU: First solve Syrian crisis and Iranian N-bomb

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu Tuesday castigated the EU for its new guidelines barring ties with Israeli communities located outside the Green Line. He advised the Europeans to stop wasting energy on Israeli settlements and instead try and end the war in Syria and stop the Iranian nuclear bomb. “Those problems are somewhat more urgent. Solve them first,” he said. “As prime minister I will not let hundreds of thousands of Israelis living in Judea, Samaria, Golan and Jerusalem, our eternal capital, come to harm. Outsiders will not dictate our borders, he stressed. They will be determined solely through direct negotiations between the parties concerned.” By its current policies, the Europeans are forfeiting a role in Mid East diplomacy.
