New commander of IDF’s Gaza Division: Brig. Gen. Yehuda Fuchs

Brig. Gen. Yehuda Fuchs assumed command of the IDF’s Gaza Division on Thursday afternoon, replacing Brig. Gen. Itay Virov. He previously served as commander of the Nachal Brigade and most recently as the IDF’s chief infantry officer. In a ceremony at the Southern Command, Brig. Gen. Fuchs said, “Only in retrospect will we know how much time remains until the crucial day comes. We will be ready for a change and this surprise will come without any advance notice.” The head of the Southern Command, Maj. Gen. Eyal Zamir, said “Gaza is bustling above and below the ground. We don’t know the day that the quiet will end. Our hands are on the trigger and the cannons of war are greased.”
