New Hossen L’Yisrael party releases Knesset list
Ahead of a festive event in Tel Aviv Tuesday night, Benny Gantz’s new Hossen Le’Yisrael party has released a list of 30 candidates for election to the next Knesset on April 9. Former defense minister Moshe Ya’alon is in second spot after Ganz, followed by Histadrut secretary Avi Nisenkorn, TV presenter Micky Haimovitz and former cabinet secretary Yoaz Handel. Attempts to co-opt the independent Gesher list, headed by Orly Levy-Abekasis, have run aground. The parties’ lists must register on Feb. 21 to run for election, which gives them just two more days to negotiate merger deals.
