New Zealand on high security alert after 49 shot dead in two mosques

Three men and a woman were taken into custody after shooting attacks on two mosques in Christchurch left 49 Friday prayer worshipers dead. Another 48, including young children, are being treated in hospital for gunshot wounds. Christchurch remains on lockdown. Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern has lifted the security alert level in the country to high, describing the outrage a “terrorist attack.” Australian PM Scott Mornson condemned “an extremist, right-wing violent terrorist attack.”
The gunmen, one an Australian-born man, were described by the police as heavily armed and well prepared. They are believed to have livestreamed at least one of the two attacks, which police urged people not to share.   Flags will be at half-mast in Australia on Friday, and buildings in Melbourne lit up in tribute

Sad and totally not what Western society stands for.
Muslims are sadly reaping what some have feared would eventually be a possible response to Islamic terrorism in the West. I hope that this never happens again but one wonders.

One can only hope that you seek medical attention as soon as possible.

When immigrants to a country proliferate more than the locals and they can claim govt handouts based on the no of children in the family, it is a heavy burden to the host country. Jobs are taken over by these immigrants and of course this will eventually lead to such violence against the immigrants

You make it seem as though all Muslims condone terror.

Shame on you for what can only be described as a heartless and inhumane comment.

Some of the comments here condoning innocent people’s/civilian murders just shows how fiendish and evil people have become. Yes defend against/attack the actual fiends but don’t condone innocents murders when you have no idea who has been murdered. This is clearly immoral and will come back to haunt. Whatever people’s religion is you can’t just blanket wish everyone’s murder. Then you are absolutely no different to the Nazis that murdered your own people.

Hopefully it’s an isolated incident, heart goes out to those families that will be putting to rest members of their families. Sad that it could come to that, these people were born into a religion that they had no choice in, and all they are guilty of is practicing their faith.

That isn’t who we are, when the Haganah outlawed the Irgun after they conducted a terrorist attack against the British, and Jew fought Jew because it was the moral thing to do, it would be a waste if we’re now supporting actions like this.

This is not the way to solve the religious division between Muslims and non-Muslims.

This atrocity cannot be viewed in isolation ,but new Zealand of all places .Idon’t believe there have been any there.Australia have had several smaller incedents.
Why have the Anzacs reacted so violenly compared to the hundreds of dead across europe in islamic attacks.
Perhaps the european majoriy in the antipodese feel isolated ,perhaps the recent ISIS threats pushed someone over the edge.

More of us need to stop “wringing our hands” and read and take to heart the message of leviticus 26 and deuteronomy 28. There are eternal principles, which if violated, result in consequences. Repent, the kingdom of yhwh is at hand.
