Obama is sworn in at public ceremony

Big crowds converged on the Washington Mall to view Barack Obama’s public inauguration for a second term as president Monday. He was officially sworn in on the steps of the Capitol before delivering his inaugural speech. Extra-tight security marked the event.  A private ceremony took place in the White House Sunday June 20.
