One American among 10 foreign climbers Taliban shot dead in Pakistan
In the first such attack on foreign tourists, a dozen Pakistani Taliban wearing police uniforms Saturday shot dead 10 foreign tourists, including an American, staying in a hotel in far northern Pakistan to scale the Himalayan Nanga Parbat peak. Five were from Ukraine, one from Lithuania, two from China, one Chinese-American and their Nepalese tour guide. The Taliban spokesman said the attack was in retaliation for a US drone strike in May which killed their second-in-command Waliur Rehman.
