PM Netanyahu: We owe our survival to them

A ceremony on the Eve of Memorial Day for Israel’s Fallen Soldiers took place in Jerusalem on Tuesday evening in the presence of PM Binyamin Netanyahu, Knesset Speaker Yuli Edelstein and bereaved families. In his speech, Netanyahu said “Today, y we bow our heads and honor our 23,741 Jewish, Druze, Muslim, Christian, Bedouin and Circassian victims, including the thousands of victims of terror – mostly recently the four innocent civilians killed earlier this week by the terrorists in Gaza. We are not eager to fight, but we know that the willingness to sacrifice is the guarantee of our fate.”

On Wednesday, places of entertainment will remain closed. Residents of southern Israel have requested that the two-minutes silence in memory of the fallen will not be ushered in with sirens after their recent ordeal from Gaza rocket alerts.

23,741 too many, may life be kind and long and easy on their surviving families.

To get a reference to USA war dead Multiply Israel’s 30,000 for 9 Million citizens by 35X
for US population of 330 Million citizens to get 1,050,000 War dead, more than all US war dead since the American Revolution
