Putin in Crimea after massive WW2 Victory Day Moscow parade

Vladimir arrived in Sevastopol Friday aboard a warship, from which he addressed a huge cheering crowd and watched a fly-by of Russian fighter-bombers. He then mingled with the crowd and shook hands.This was his first visit to Crimea since its annexation to Russia. Putin arrived from a massive military parade in Red Square, Moscow that marked the 69th anniversary of the Soviet Union’s defeat of Nazi Germany, which Russians celebrate as a national holiday. The Kiev authorities reported that up to 20 people were killed in a security operation against separatists in the southern port town of Mariupol. Sunday, pro-Russian separatists of E. Ukraine hold a referendum on their future, despite Putin’s request that they delay the vote.
