Saudi anti-corruption sweep wins praise from Trump

“I have great confidence in King Salman and the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia, they know exactly what they are doing,” Trump wrote on Twitter Tuesday, on his way from Tokyo to Seoul. “Some of those they are harshly treating have been ’milking’ their country for years!” he added –  in reference to the 11 princes, four ministers and dozens of ex-ministers and international billionaire businessman Prince Alwaleed bin Talal, detained in a massive purge.

In a phone call to King Salman Saturday, he lauded the monarch and his son’s statements on the need to build a moderate, peaceful and tolerant region. Trump also urged them to choose Wall Street for next year’s launch of the Aramco oil giant’s IPO.
