Second purported message extends deadline for ISIS hostage threat
The message, still to be analyzed, is read in a voice claiming to be Japanese hostage Kenji Goto. It was released online Thursday after Jordan agreed to swap the would-be suicide bomber linked to al Qaeda with the Jordanian pilot in ISIS captivity. The recording, in English, says the Jordanians must present Sajida al-Rishawi at the Turkish border by sunset Thursday, or Jordanian pilot Lt. Mu'ath al-Kasaseabeh will be killed. It gave negotiations an additional 24 hours. The message distributed on Twitter by ISIS-affiliated accounts, did not relate to Goto’s own fate.
