Serious after-effects may occur after some mild covid attacks

People who suffered a light form of coronavirus with mild symptoms have been coming to hospital  requiring urgent treatment for severe after-effects that occur some time later, Prof. Galia Rahav, Director of Infection Diseases at the Sheba government medical center, reported on Wednesday. The delayed damage caused by the virus is all the more reason to get vaccinated, she said.

Vaccinations were administered to 160,00 people on Wednesday, raising the total of first shots past 4 million and second to 2.7 million. The Health Ministry reports that more than 50pc of individuals aged 30 plus have been vaccinated.

New cases on Wednesday totaled 5,157, 6.5pc tested positive and the infection R factor 0.8pc. The hospitals were treating 962 serous cases, 287 on respirators. The number of deaths rose to 5,441.
