Sudan’s president skips South Africa ahead of arrest
Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir managed to fly out of South Africa Monday after a judge barred him from leaving the country pending a hearing on an international warrant for his arrest on genocide, war crimes and crimes against humanity in Darfour. Bashar has evaded arrest on an ICC indictment for years. This time, before the hearing was over, Sudan’ State Minister for Information said that his plane had taken off and would land in Khartoum Monday evening.
