Syrian forces with Russian support retake Palmyra

Lt. Gen. Sergei Rudskoy of the Russian Ministry of Defense said Friday that more than 1,000 ISIS fighters were killed or wounded by Syrian forces and Russian aircraft in the operation which recaptured Palmyra and surrounding areas this week. The offensive was planned by Russian advisers after ISIS had held the strategic town in the Homs province for several months.
