Three Russian warships deployed to Baltic after US destroyer’s arrival
Three heavily armed Russian warships sailed Tuesday close to the Baltic state of Latvia, a member of NATO, , shortly after the USS Carney entered the Baltic Sea with cruise missiles on board. The sudden removal of the three warships from St, Petersburg prompted rumors that Russia’s annual navy parade of May 9 commemorating victory over the Nazis had been cancelled. However, it is taking place with fewer ships. The main parade marking Victory Day is being held in Moscow’s Red Square presided over by President Vladimir Putin.
