Turkey confirms 5 dead, 39 injured in Istanbul blast
Ankara reports that 5 people were killed in a suicide bombing attack in Istanbul Saturday and 39 people were injured, 24 of them foreign nationalists.They included three Israeli tourists who died and another 11 who were injured – three of them in critical condition. The blast occurred shortly before 11 a.m. on Saturday just off Istiklal Caddesi, Istanbul’s main pedestrian shopping street, which stretches south from Taksim Square. Less than a week ago, a terrorist attack in the Turkish capital Ankara left 37 dead.
