Turks furious over charge of betraying Israeli spies to Iran
The Washington Post report accusing the Erdogan government and the Turkish intelligence agency MIT head Hakan Fidan of betraying to Tehran an Israeli spy network operating in Iran is slammed by Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu as an international and domestic smear campaign to undermine Turkey’s credibility. Senior adviser to the prime minister Mustafa Varank commented that the story as published was contrary to the real situation. He did not explain.
