Two Israelis injured in stabbing attacks Friday

An Israeli police officer was stabbed Friday at the western gate of Kiryat Arba, the Jewish district of Hebron. He was lightly injured. The Palestinian attacker was shot dead by members of the police team at the scene when he tried to grab his victim’s sidearm. In Jerusalem, a young yeshiva student was knifed on Rte 1 near the tomb of Rabbi Shimon Hatzadik. A volunteer from the Jerusalem branch of the Ichud Hatzalah society gave him first aid.
