US sources: Aleppo not included in Syria ceasefire deal with Russia

American sources said Saturday that the city of Aleppo is not included in the agreement reached by the US and Russia on implementation of a "regime of silence" in the Syrian cities of Damascus and Latakia, adding that they hope it will be included soon.
DEBKAfile: At this stage in which large numbers of Russian, Syrian, Iranian and Hizballah forces are in the midst of an offensive to surround Aleppo and place the rebel forces in the city under siege, there is no chance of stopping the fighting in the area.
