Yemeni Houthi rebels backed by Iran capture Taiz
Yemen’s third city, Taiz, and its international airport have fallen to the armed forces of the Iranian-backed Houthi rebels, led by the deposed president Ali Abdullah Saleh. Heavily armed by Iran, they stormed the town along two tracks – one by ground forces with artillery and tanks and the other by air. Saturday, Washington announced that the last 100 US troops had been evacuated from Yemen.
