Car explosion kills eight in Damascus. Two car bombs intercepted

The Syrian Interior Ministry said Sunday that security forces tracked three cars loaded with explosives heading for central Damascus on the morning after the Muslim holiday. Two were intercepted at checkpoints on the airport road. The third reached the city center, where the driver blew himself up, killing eight people and injuring twelve.
