Egyptian network drops broadcasts by Hizballah TV station
Following pressure by the Saudi government, Egypt's NileSat satellite company on Wednesday halted its broadcasts of Lebanon's Al-Manar network, which is operated by Hizballah and supported by Iran. NileSat had informed the Lebanese telecommunications minister the previous evening that the broadcasts would be halted immediately due to the network's "shows that provoke sectarian strife and sedition." Saudi Arabia's satellite firm Arabsat dropped the Lebanese station in December 2015.
