High Court orders police to release body of Bedouin truck driver
The High Court in Jerusalem Monday ordered the police to release for funeral the body of Yakub Al-Qiyan, the Bedouin driver accused of using his truck to ram police officers last week and crushing 1st Sgt. Erez Levi, 34 to death. The police were also instructed to withdraw their conditions for releasing Al-Qiyan’s body, namely for his family to refrain from turning the funeral into a political showcase event against Israel. The police stand by their accusation that the Bedouin driver carried out a deliberate act of terrorism.
