IDF Gaza commander: Israeli citizens may return home safely

OC Southern Command Maj. Gen. Sami Torjeman called on Israeli citizens to return home to their communities around the Gaza Strip and promised they would be safe. The Gaza operation is not over. Hamas was gravely impaired in the month-long operation and will deeply regret any violations of the three-day ceasefire that started Tuesday morning, said the Israeli general. IDF armored forces stand ready to cross back if necessary and will do so for any attempt to dig a new tunnel or fire. That is a powerful deterrent to further Hamas aggression.
