Khamenei: Talks broken off with US for “violations” of nuclear deal
Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei Monday accused the US of continuing to thwart Iran’s economic relations with other countries despite the landmark [nuclear] accord. He said Tehran will not accept any further talks with Washington due to what he described as US “violations” of the deal. “The average Iranians have not seen any benefit from the nuclear deal with world powers,” he said. “Weren’t the supposed sanctions lifted to change the life of the people? Is any tangible effect seen in people’s life after six months?”
In an interview with Fox News Sunday night, Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton stressed that as secretary of state she had helped delay Iran’s attainment of a nuclear weapon “without a single shot fired.”
