North Korea launched an intermediate-range Musudan ballistic missile from a site in the western city of Kusong on Thursday. However, according to American and South Korean military sources, the weapon crashed immediately after lifting off. The failed launch came hours after Washington and Seoul announced that they had agreed on joint steps against Pyongyang's missile and nuclear programs.
