Netanyahu to discuss with Pence “Trump’s efforts to curb Iran’s aggression”

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu said he and US Vice President Mike Pence would discuss “Trump’s efforts to curb Iranian aggression and the Iranian nuclear program” as well as peace and security. He said this at the start of the weekly cabinet meeting Sunday, hours before VP Pence’s arrival in Jerusalem from Jordan. He said that Knesset members of the United Arab Party’s plan to boycott or disrupt Pence’s “important visit to the Knesset” was a “disgrace.”
Over lunch with King Abdullah in Amman earlier Sunday, the vice president defended Trump’s decision to recognize Jerusalem as “historic.” He added the United States is committed to respecting Jordan’s role as the custodian of the city’s holy sites, and that the United States has taken no decision on boundaries and the final status of the city, which is subject to negotiations.
