New IDF appointments: Navy commander, four major generals

The IDF announced Sunday a series of new appointments: Major General Yaakov (Kobi) Barak has been chosen as commander of ground forces; Brigadier General Eli Sharvit is appointed commander of the Navy and promoted to major general; Brigadier General Aharon Haliva is the new head of the technology and logistics branch with the rank of major general. Brigadier General Nadav Padan rises to major general as next head of the C4I branch, while Brigadier General Miki Edelstein is appointed military attaché to Washington and likewise promoted to major general.
