North Korea shuts liaison with South

North Korea “will completely cut off and shut down the liaison line between the authorities of the North and the South, which has been maintained through the North-South joint liaison office… ” the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) reported on Tuesday. Military communication channels will also be cut. One of the signatories on the order was Kim Jong-un’s sister Kim Yo-jong, who is emerging as  a potential successor to her brother. Last week, she threatened to close the office unless Seoul stopped defectors from flying leaflets over the North.
