Over 50 killed as Syrian air force bombs fruit and vegetable market

Syrian air force planes carried out two airstrikes on Tuesday against a fruit and vegetable market in the center of the northwestern city of Maarat al-Numan, killing over 50 people and wounding hundreds of others. The casualties from the second attack, about an hour after the first, included aid workers who arrived on the scene to remove the dead and rescue the wounded.
