Pompeo: 7 companies sanctioned in Trump’s parting shot for Iran

Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said on Friday that seven companies were to be sanctioned for shipping steel or aluminum to or from Iran, altogether 15 materials used for Iran’s nuclear, military or ballistic missile programs. The sanctions were imposed on companies in Iran, China and the United Arab Emirates for doing business with Iranian shippers and three Iranian entities over conventional arms proliferation.

This was the Trump administration’s last word on its “maximum pressure” policy against Iran, before the White House passes to Joe Biden in four days’ time.
