Riyadh imposing collective punishment on Lebanon’s people, Nasrallah claims

Hizballah leader Hassan Nasrallah alleged Tuesday in a TV interview that Saudi Arabia has imposed collective punishment on the Lebanese people "only because of the position of one Shiite party in parliament." The remarks came after Riyadh halted its $3 billion in aid to the Lebanese security forces and called on Saudi citizens to leave Lebanon immediately. The steps by the Saudi government, which supports the uprising against Syrian President Bashar Assad, triggered intense debate between supporters and opponents of Hizballah in Lebanon.
