Seventeen now confirmed dead from inferno at London high-rise
In a statement to the media on Thursday morning, London Metropolitan Police Commander Stuart Cundy said that 17 people are now confirmed dead from the devastating fire that ripped through Grenfell Tower the previous day, with 37 others hospitalized including 17 in critical condition. He declined to specify the number of people still accounted for. Cundy also said there is no evidence that the blaze was related to terrorism.
Meanwhile, after visiting the site of the disaster, British Prime Minister Theresa May announced that she had ordered a full public inquiry.
