Some 10,000 rally in Rabin Sq. to protest covid-19-induced penury
They brandished large placards Saturday night in Tel Aviv’s Rabin Square accusing the government of indifference to the hopeless financial plight in which the coronavirus crisis had cast broad sections of society. Represented were self-employed, jobless wage-earners, small business owners, entertainers, the hospitality trade and students. Opposition politicians, who tried to address the gathering, were told to leave. “This is a demonstration of the people,” they were told.
