Tel Aviv main streets shut off for anti-government protest rally Saturday night
The rally in protest against the government’s handling of economic distress was called for Saturday night by organizations representing the various sectors of self-employed hit by coronavirus, including restaurants, hospitality and tourism, entertainment, actors, musicians, transport, night clubs, bars and students. Politicians were asked not to attend. The platform is reserved for people with personal stories. The small business owners decided to join the rally after a special meeting with the prime minister, who promised that no one would be left out of the new economic package and relief would be prompt.
Police will attend in force to make sure that the protesters comply with the health restrictions of masks and social distancing.
