Syria to receive first Russian Yak-130 training jets this year

The first batch of nine Russian Yakovlev Yak-130 jet combat trainers to be delivered to the Syrian air force by end of this year. The contract for 36 aircraft is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2016, a source close to the deal told the local business daily Kommersant. The second consignment of 12 aircraft will be delivered in 2015, and a further 15 jet trainers in 2016.
