Turkey’s top soldier pays a return visit to Tehran
Turkey’s Chief of the General Staff, Gen. Hulusi Akar is due to visit Tehran with a large military delegation to continue consultations begun last week by Iranian military chiefs in Ankara. They discussed boosting their bilateral military and intelligence ties and cooperating on the Kurdish question. The announcement of the visit on Thursday came the day after US Secretary of Defense James Mattis visited Ankara. This exchange of high-level military visits indicates the warming of relations between Turkey and Iran.
