US: New sanctions unrelated to Iran nuclear deal

US Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley said Tuesday that the latest US sanctions against Iran were unrelated to its 2015 nuclear deal with the six world powers. Iran, she said, must stop its “missile launches, support for terrorism, disregard for human rights and violation of UN Security Council resolutions.”
She was responding to Iranian President Hassan Rouhani’s threat that Tehran could withdraw from the nuclear deal within hours if the US imposed new sanctions.

Haley stressed at the same time, "Iran cannot be allowed to use the nuclear deal to hold the world hostage.” The nuclear deal must not become 'too big to fail'."
