Palestinian youth killed throwing firebombs at Jerusalem police
In a fresh surge of Palestinian rock and firebomb attacks in Jerusalem, a 17-year old Palestinian youth was shot dead as he prepared to hurl a burning firebomb at a border police force early Monday at the Ras al-Amud district of Jerusalem. He was later identified as a member of Young Fatah.
Sunday night, the windscreens of several Israeli cars were smashed by flying rocks and bottle bombs as they drove out of northern Jerusalem onto the 443 highway. There were no casualties. However, when the motorists reached the highway, they faced dazzling laser rays beamed from Palestinian villages. The murder of Cpl Ziv Mordecai at the Dor gas station last week has marked a sharp escalation of dangerous Palestinian attacks on this main route out of Jerusalem to Modi’in and Tel Aviv.
